The Gold Coast Film Festival is an annual celebration of screen culture which runs for 11 days.

The festival includes:
Queensland Showcase - cinema screenings of independent films shot in Queensland.
International and Australian pre-release films. Asia Pacific Screen Award winning films. Cool Japan: a screen culture program designed to celebrate Japan's creative industries.

In addition the festival hosts free filmmaking workshops and runs a free outdoor screening program oriented towards children's and family films. 75 per cent of Queensland's film industry is located on the Gold Coast, and this event seeks to be the flagship of and porthole to that industry.

The 36th annual Gold Coast Airport Marathon will be staged in one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world in Queensland, Australia. Regarded as one of Australia's premier sporting events, the Gold Coast Airport Marathon is set to attract more than 28,000 participants of all ages and abilities from Queensland, interstate and overseas.

The event program will feature the Gold Coast Airport Marathon, Wheelchair Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, Wheelchair 15 kilometres, Southern Cross University 10 kilometre Run, Suncorp Bank 5.7 kilometre Challenge and Junior Dash 4 kilometre and 2 kilometre races which are renowned worldwide for being flat, fast and scenic, running alongside the beautiful Broadwater and sparkling surf beaches.

In 2013, the Gold Coast Airport Marathon became the first Australian marathon race to attain an International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Road Race Bronze Label, putting it in esteemed company around the world.

The Gold Coast 600 is a V8 racing car carnival held in Surfers Paradise over three days in October. The beaches of the Gold Coast are the perfect backdrop for this event, where the social program is an equally important part of the action. Watch the world’s top V8 Supercars whizz around the beachside track or catch an exciting endurance race with18 top international drivers. In the evening, the dedicated entertainment precinct at Broadwater Parklands comes alive. The huge trackside music concerts feature both Australian and international performers.
